The gate officially opened at 7AM today to usher in our over 500 registered participants for the 3-Day intensive training event.
Today featured training on various life skills for improved productivity and performance in the world of corporate businesses and leadership. Over 50 renowned business and corporate leaders(Mr. Emeka Ossai, Mr. Awotiku Kunle, Mr. Ajibola Kasope, Barr. Edem Ossai, Barr. Achathu, etc) in Ibadan graced the opening day of the event and served as mentors who were paired alongside all participants present. This enabled a better understanding of the discourse of day one-Life skills. All participants received writing notes, pens, breakfast and lunch packages courtesy of the Nigerian Bottling Company.
Tips on self-discovery, SWOT analysis on various personality types and pitching strategies for business owners were also conducted by all mentors. This lasted for two hours.
After the lunch break, the training was graced with the presence of the honourable commissioner of Youths and sports, Barr. Yomi Oke who gave a brief talk on the role of government in Youth Empowerment and active participation in nation building. Mock job interviews were conducted to give all participants an eye-opening experience into the world of job recruitment. The event came to an end at 4:30 pm.
Day two will be featuring intensive training in Business-Grant writing, model business canvas, sales and negotiation skills, project management and execution and lots more.
The final day of the NBC Youth Empowered Ibadan 2018 will be hosting a business and innovation idea challenge where grants will be awarded to all successful participants with winning business ideas.
NBC will be giving *extra slots to the first 200 persons* who wish to participate in this year’s Youth Empowered Ibadan, 2018.
