The Oyo State government has announced its partnership with Google to train 30,000 secondary school students across the 33 LGAs of the state on Digital Skills. This is to ensure that students acquire the technical skills required in today’s digital economy.
Early last year, Google announced the commission of the Project; Digital Skills For Africa. This project is envisioned
at training over a million Africans on the prospects and opportunities in Digital Skills, Online Media, and
Digital Marketing. These are tools that are relevant in the dynamics of today’s digital economy.
The training program will be delivered by Konverge media (a Google Digital Skills Implementation Partner). The program is scheduled to run between 16th February 2017 and 7th of April 2017 and every participant will be awarded a certificate of Digital Basics by Google to affirm their competence.
