The Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo has been named the Presidency’s Innovation Ambassador; he has been seen to display his youthful strength across various sectors ranging from the tech communities, social empowerment initiatives and leading various economic teams.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was in the industrial city of Nigeria, Lagos yesterday to visit the Technology Hubs as part of efforts to spur innovation & boost the technology drive. The visit was tagged #VPTourOfTech

The Tour took him to various technology hubs in Lagos which include Co-creation Hub, Venia Hub and the offices of Paystack, Flutterwave, Andela Nigeria, and Farmcrowdy, among others. He was accompanied by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, and the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami.

Osinbajo spent the time listening to the startups share their stories and explain what they do. This tour didn’t happen in isolation. Osinbajo’s recent sojourn has taken him through the southern part of the country. He was in Anambra State on April 12 for the 13th Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic. Later that day, in Umuahia, he launched the Abia State Government’s tele-health initiative.

He was indeed impressed by the innovations achieved by startups in the Tech industry; among the things he said was commending Paystack company and expressing how the government is so proud of them.

While we celebrate the Vice President’s Visit to Lagos, the people of Ibadan should also look forward to his visit as we have amazing tech start-ups in the city to mention few companies like TinklingD and others
