No Shine For Shooting Stars Football Club as They Get Relegated

The Oluyole warriors and its supporters were disappointed as their team fell short of what was required to maintain their status in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) as they lost by two goals to nil against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja, with result going against them in Gombe as Wikki Tourists of Bauchi edged out Gombe United by a Lone goal. They would be joining Remo Stars, ABS and Gombe United whose relegation had been confirmed prior to the final round of matches played today.





Shooting Stars football club and its supporters are currently faced with the prospect of playing in the second tier of Nigerian football league come next season and they would be aiming at returning to the top flight at the first attempt.




In other developments, Plateau United defeated Rangers FC of Enugu by two goals to nil to be crowned NPFL champions, while MFM FC of Lagos would be rewarded with continental football next season in the CAF champions League by virtue of finishing second while Eyimba FC of Aba would be playing in the CAF confederations cup as they finished third ahead of other contenders vying for the spot.
