MTN Project Fame Season 9,  which featured  Ibadan singer Blessing Falodun, has come to an end. The  grand finale of the music contest which has created plenty of buzz on both online and traditional media for the past few months was held yesterday the 25th of September 2016. The grand prize, an eye-watering price of N5m, an SUV  and a multi-million naira recording contract, was won by Okiemute Ighorodje, a 25-year-old Delta State born, University of Port Harcourt graduate, who performed “Fada Fada.” the hit single by famous Igbo rapper Phyno on the closing night of the event. and delivered an electric performance that got the crowd roaring in admiration.


The beautiful and angelic-voiced Elizabeth Emoruwa was the  first runner-up, she performed  “Standing Ovation” by Tiwa Savage and won herself N3m and a saloon car. The second runner-up was Kitay Okotete,  who performed Kiss Daniel’s “Mama”.  Kitay got N2m and a saloon car. Fourth place went to Pere Davis Atie who sang  “Writing on the Wall” by British singer Sam Smith and earned himself N2m for his efforts. Dapo Arogundade,who sang Labrinth‘s “Jealous”, claimed the fifth position  and  N1m. Winner Egbo, who sang Adele‘s “Hello”, rounded off the final six. Winner got a cash prize of N500,000 for her final placing.


Even though Blessing Falodun, the representative of Ibadan in the Project Fame Academy did not make the final six, we, at Ibadan Insider, are proud of her and how far she was able to get. We wish to congratulate  Okiemute Ighoroje on her wonderful performance and her great victory. Also, we wish the other contestants all the best in their music careers.
