R2FM92.9 wins Nairaoke’s Battle of the OAPs
Top Nigerian Karaoke entertainment outfit Nairaoke in conjunction with top Ibadan media blog WhatsupIbadan had its first ever Karaoke tour. The tour which was titled “Battle of the OAPS” ran Thursday the 24th of November to Sunday the 27th of November 2016. From the 24th to the 26th On-Air-Personalities from twelve Radio Stations across the city of Ibadan battled for a place in the final on the 27th and the chance to be the King of Karaoke in Ibadan for 2016.
The final show of the Battle of the OAPs was held at Apollos Lounge, Palms Shopping Mall Ring Road Ibadan, on Sunday the 27th of November, saw four Radio stations, Royal Roots FM who qualified from a group which also included The Beat FM, Premier FM and Petals FM; Space FM who qualified ahead of Naija FM, Fresh FM and Lead City FM; Raypower FM who came out tops over Inspiration FM, Impact Business Radio and Lagelu FM and Inspiration FM who did not top their group but go into the final as a wildcard entry from the judges one of whom was the Tolu Maintain of the Maintain Boys fame.
After a keenly contested final but which was fun all the way, the top three stations emerged. 3rd place went to Space FM and they got loads of fantastic prizes from the co-sponsors of the event
2nd place went to Wildcard entry Inspiration FM who also got loads of prizes from the event sponsors
The Grand Prize and the title of the Winner of the Battle of the OAPs went to Royal Roots FM 92.9 who had put up top class performances in the course of the event. In addition to the title of the Kings of Karaoke, they also won 3 pairs of footwear from Stryker Shoes, a one month Comprehensive Training One Event/ Occasion Makeover from Motola Makeovers, an All Expenses Paid Trip for one to Calabar courtesy of Discoveria, two lunch vouchers from FoodCo Nigeria Limited, a Maxi sized 15 people cake from Paris Bakery, ten Choc Party tickets from the Choc Boy Brand, a Free Photoshoot session from DKM Media, a box of Cupcakes from Amanda Cakes , three Copies of Blue Skies, Red Seas from Bolu Onasanya and Aunty Lanre and eight one Sauna Sessions for Female OAPs from My Figure 8.
