Day2 Recap of the South-West eCommerce Summit &Expo
The eCommerce summit continued the next day, 27th March 2018. The event was so full of a large number of participants who came to step up their business game using the latest technology called eCommerce.
Day2 started with a brief session with Mr. Parqueen Ihabor from Bank of Industry, Ibadan Chapter who discussed in details the offers Bank of Industry has on ground to support businesses. Some of the things he mentioned were the bank of Industry (BOI) is ready to support businesses that are into production and when it’s to accepting any of the support grants no collateral is required but there must be a civil servant as a guarantor; which is important during the time of loan retrieval. He also mentioned again that Bank of Industry does not deal with individual rather with the organization and no one will be given cash rather all transactions are made through the purchase of products, facilities required by the organization.
The Keynote speakers for the 2nd day of the summit were Mr. Sunday Afolayan, the founder of dot.ng; Mr. Michael Akinwale; founder of Rally Academy and Mr. Christein Keller, CEO, African Founder.
Mr. Afolayan who spoke on the Reliability of dot.ng domain hosting; he described to be recognized by Google because of the specificity. He is, however, the founder of the first domain name in Ibadan.
Mr. Michael Akinwale spoke on running a Successful Business Online. During his session, he compared the profit margin generated by the online store using Amazon as a case study and physical store using Walmart as a Case study. He also shared how eCommerce has transformed his business using some online platforms.
Mr. Christein Keller spoke about developing a Business Model and how investing in artisans will transform the Country’s commerce.
After the Keynote Speakers’ session, the participants broke into various sessions just as it happened during day1; featuring lots of companies as facilitators such as Paystacks, Jumia, myMusic among others.
The Day2 event was spiced up with a raffle draw, which was anchored by the popular Ibadan based comedian; Shete. The Lucky participants went home with Tablet, free domain hosting, solar lanterns; free music subscriptions from myMusic and many others.
The lucky participants couldn’t hide their joy as many said it was their first time ever winning a raffle draw.
The event was wrapped up with the participants going round to check each exhibition stands for either patronage or checkout.
