African Urban Fashion Show (AUFS) Set To Debut In Ibadan With ‘ASIKO AFRIKA’

African Urban Fashion Show(AUFS) is in its 3rd season and it’s becoming a mainstay event with highly creative fashion entrepreneurs and fashion lovers. African Fashion is experiencing a burst in enthusiasm across board with many youngsters turning to careers in fashion and style to make a name for themselves. The AUFS platform aims to stimulate all round sector development in the fashion industry by developing bright talents into decision makers and fashion leaders globally.

 

                 

 

After a successful turn of events with their previous editions, drawing thousands of fashion lovers to their venues, securing strategic partnerships, and gaining mass media coverage – African Urban Fashion Show is looking to trash their previous records in the coming edition.

AUFS is set to make a debut in the metropolitan city of Ibadan, with the theme ‘ASIKO AFRIKA’ The city boasts of a rich history in fashion and style, and it serves as an important site for fashion in South West Nigeria due to her large fabric markets, skilled fashion artisans & professionals, and teeming young fashion enthusiasts in tertiary institutions. The show this year will act as a confluence for fashion lovers from all six geo-political zones, displaying the finest of urban talents.

 

 

 

      

 

On Saturday, 12th of August; 2017, the first edition of the African Urban Fashion Show “Network & Chill fashion hangout”; a build up event to the much anticipated African Urban Fashion Show to come up later in the year. This was done in a bid to show their preparedness in bringing the best of fashion to Ibadan.

The show was a beautiful production which featured styling games, cocktail & canapes, question & answer session & lots of networking.

 

 

Most stimulating was the fashion session taken by the guest speaker of the fashion hangout; fashion entrepreneur and blogger Sharon Ojong who among the many nuggets she delivered, emphasized that “defining your profile, your target audience, branding and consistency are key ingredients to success in the industry”.

 

 

     

 

 

The atmosphere was a very exciting, interactive and chill one.  The Premium luxury Mauve21 lounge in the city of Ibadan acted as the backdrop for the fashion hang out and was hosted by MC. Timi Agbaje. The event was graced by a lovely audience of fashion stylists, models, designers, photographers, enthusiasts and media house reps from Ibadan, Osun and Lagos state.
