As a direct fallout of the  relegation of the Oluyole warriors from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), the Oyo State House of Assembly committee on sports through its chairman Hon. Adbulfatai Adesina presented a memo on the floor of the house on Tuesday 19th September 2017. In the memo, the house made it known that there were remote and immediate causes that led to the relegation of the team.

The aim of the inquiry is to look into the activities of the club in the past three to four years, with its cash flow also subject to scrutiny as a section of fans has called for restructuring within the clubs hierarchy

The funds committed to the running of the club in the years under review was well over Seven hundred million Naira which does not include gate takings, transfer fees, sponsorship and funds from the League Management Company (LMC).



The inquiry is set to be done according to section 128 subsections 1&2 of the constitution but a date is yet to be fixed for the hearing.

Stakeholders expected at the hearing include, the leadership of the Oyo state Football Association, representative of the accountant general, officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, players representative, staff of Shooting Stars, relevant stakeholders, including interested ex-players, representative of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo State chapter and other interested public officials.
