Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan manager, Fatai Amoo has declared that his job as the Oluyole Warlords helmsman is not under threat. Amoo was speaking at the press conference following a 0-2 loss to Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin in a Matchday 5 game of the 2016/2017 Nigerian Professional Football League, where goals from Mohammed Mohammed and Ebuka Anaekwe consigned the Ibadan team their 3rd defeat of the season.
The result leaves the former Nigerian U-23 team assistant coach still searching for his second competitive win as 3SC manager while the club has dropped into the NPFL relegation zone and are one point away from safety. 3SC are 19th in the NPFL table with 4 points in 5 games, with a -2 goal aggregate. The Ibadan side are 1 point ahead of 20th placed Akwa United and 9 points behind leaders Plateau United
Amoo is under no illusions that his side must buck up their ideas this season, but he insists he is not under pressure
“I am not under pressure, but I know I have to and I will make necessary corrections where we noticed lapses (of the team). I don’t expect my players to play below expectations, and I am not happy with the way we have performed recently, but we shall work on our lapses
On the officiating of the match, Amoo said “The officiating was okay! The officials did their best, but there is lots of work to be done.”
3SC’s next NPFL game is against 5th placed Rivers United of Port Harcourt at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday the 1st of February 2017.
