Oyo State Government Issues Out A 30 Day Ultimatum To Illegal Property Developers
The Oyo state Government has issued out a 30-day ultimatum warning to illegal property developers in the state to pull down their buildings or face the wrath of the Government if not adhered to.
In a statement made by the Director-General of the Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control, Mr. Waheed Gbadamosi on Tuesday explained that it was crucial for Oyo state residents to adhere to the laws laid down by the Bureau to avoid any danger.
The state government also implored its residents to get building plans in line with the laws of the state and Federation with the Bureau and its zonal offices only.
The DG also explained that the task force set up by the government will soon embark on the certification of approved building plans, adding that those who have obtained building approvals from other sources should prepare and will have to resubmit their plans for processing and approval after paying the necessary fees.
He also said that the Oyo state frowns at the illegal structure developments which are why their owners are being given a 30-day ultimatum to pull down their buildings.
The compliance with this directive will be for a period of 30 days after which the offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the planning laws.
He also said that people should stop obtaining approvals from other sources as any approval outside the bureau will be disregarded.
