Dino Melaye Wears Academic Robe to Senate Meeting
Senator Dino Melaye dressed in academic gown to the senate house on Tuesday.
Prior to this event Melaye was called out concerning his false academic qualification and certificates. The senate invited the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University to attest to the above claims. The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Ibrahim Garba confirmed that Senator Dino Melaye graduated from the Unviversity with 3rd class grade from the department of Geography.
Dino Melaye choosed to be dress in academic gown to the senate to confirm that he is indeed an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
President Buhari Seeks the Approval of the Senate on New Ministerial Nominees
President Muhammadu Buhari sent the lists of his new ministerial nominees to the senate for approval on Tuesday Evening.
According to an anonymous source, the nominees are from Kogi and Gombe States. The Kogi nominee would replace the late Minister of State for Labour, Mr. James Ocholi (SAN) who died in an accident, while the Gombe nominee would replace former Minister for the Environment, Ms Amina Mohammed, who is now the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
However, the Senate are yet to approve the ministerial nominees.
Road Accidents costs Nigerians N3.2 billion in 2017- Boboye Oyeyemi
The corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Boboye Oyeyemi disclosed that Nigerians has lost more than N3.2 billion in the first quarter of the year.
Mr. Oyeyemi made mention of this while having a meeting with the National Executive Council and State Chairmen of National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, held in Kaduna yesterday. These road crashes include 62 road accidents involving 62 tankers and several deaths
However, he persuaded NARTO to examine their drivers thoroughly before employing them as well as to caution their drivers against speeding on smooth roads.
Ambode Inherits debt burden- Tinubu
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu said Governor Ambode of Lagos State was gifted a burden of debt from previous administrations in the state. He stated this while opening some construction projects in the Alimosho area of Lagos State to celebrate his 65th birthday.
“…When you took over, I know you inherited a burden of debt. The debt profile of Lagos was high. I was wondering how you would reengineer and face the challenges to make progress…Today, I can see your report card; you have scored well, and you have shown prudency, especially in the judicious use of resources of the state…”
Ambode described the opening of the projects as been significant in Alimosho and the state in general.
Naira Loses Value Against Dollar
The Nigerian currency falls at parallel market against dollar, after gaining above 9 per cent last week.
According to reports, the rate of a dollar to naira cost N383. However Naira appreciated against the Pound Sterling from N470 to N465.
