BULLET!! USAIN BOLT BECOMES FIRST MAN TO WIN THREE OLYMPIC 100m TITLES IN A ROW
World’s fastest man, Usain Bolt has won a record-breaking third consecutive gold medal in the Olympic 100m event after Monday’s victory at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
The 29-year old Jamaican who ran a time of 9.81seconds in his final Olympics ahead of USA’s Justin Gatlin (9.89 seconds) and Canada’s Andre de Grasse (9.91 seconds) who finished second and third respectively, replicated his success at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
The Bolt who plans to retire from athletics after the 2017 World Championships, saw off a fierce competition from Athens 2004 champion, Justin Gatlin who had a better start and was in the pole position to win.
Bolt who won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m events in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, will be aiming to win his third Olympic treble as he remains on target to win the 200m and 4x100m event which come up later this week.
