PEOPLE OF IBADAN: The Lawyartist!
I know someone. A very simple course mate of mine who creates and draws beautiful things with pencils. She isn’t 100% yet, but with the way she’s going, she’s going to be really good in the nearest future.
I had to interview her for PEOPLE OF IBADAN!
Can you tell us about yourself in few lines?
I’m Adebukola Anthonia Ibirogba. A final year student of Law at the University Of Ibadan. I draw and I’m passionate about music and writing too. I had dreams of becoming a professional singer before I gained admission into UI. I had written two songs by then. (Laughter)
Aside : Yeah, Bukky has an amazing alto voice. Both of us happen to sing alto in the Law choral. She’s the reason I want to remain in law choral. Her passion for it is contagious.
When exactly did you start drawing?
Bukky : I cannot remember a specific time I began drawing or when I discovered that I could draw. I’ve drawn for as long as I can remember. I wanted to get better so I started practicing more last year. Drawing is one thing I can do all day long without getting bored. There are times when I draw and I forget that I’m yet to eat.
Do you intend combing everything together? Your music, writing, Law and drawing?
Bukky: If possible, yes. I really don’t mind.
We all have the opportunity to inspire people in our little way. What are you waiting for? Start now. With the little you have. Start now. With the voices inside of you. Start now.
We are proud of Bukola! Keep up the good work.
We need more ladies like Bukky!
Bold. Black. Beautiful
Confident and Nerdy and Afro-centric
