Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan manager Fatai Amoo has declared his happiness with his team after the team earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Katsina United Football Club at the Karkanda Stadium Katsina in an NPFL 2016/2017 Matchday 9 Game. The draw was the team’s first away points of the season and the team now have four points from their last two matches. The result also takes 3SC to 16th place in the NPFL table with 8 points and 2 games in hand.
Amoo, who is under no illusions that his team, which is starting to find its feet again, after a winless run threatened to derail its season, must continue to get better, said at the Press Conference at the Karkanda Stadium on Sunday: ” I’m happy for our first point on the road, but not only on the result, also on the performance! We take it on from there!”.
Kayode Olaniran who came on as a substitute and scored the goal that salvaged the precious away point for the Ibadan team also expressed his happiness with his contribution to the game: “I feel excited to help the club and I’m dedicating it (the goal) to my Coach for his belief in me and also to my mother for her support”
The Ibadan side is currently on their way to Bauchi to face Wikki Tourists, in an NPFL game that was rescheduled due to the Bauchi side being on CAF Confederations Cup duties against Royal Armed Forces Football Club of Sierra Leone. They have a chance to rise to the top half of the table if they get a win on Wednesday.
