Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan on Sunday defeated Lagos side, MFM FC, 1-0 at the Agege Stadium to secure their first away win of the season in one of the Week 23 matches of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
It was the second win for the Ibadan side over the newly-promoted MFM as they ended MFM’s unbeaten run with a 3-1 victory in Ibadan at the start of the season. But the match was marked by crowd trouble as fans invaded the pitch in attempt to beat up match officials. The fans thronged the pitch to protest the win, which they said was fraudulent.
The lone goal which was scored Ebitimi Agogu, gave 3SC the needed three points as they battle relegation from the league. According to the League Management Company’s Twitter handle, the match was an end to end affair for most of the game as both sides sought the winning goal.
