On Sunday, in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League season, Kano Pillars Football Club of Kano recorded its biggest win when it thumped visiting Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan 6-0. The win was secured by  Emmanuel Edmund’s hat-trick with as well as goals scored by Ifeanyi Matthew, Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim.

Ifeanyi Matthew started scoring for Pillars with a low drive after 11 minutes, then the hat trick crooner Edmund doubled the lead in the 37th minute. In the 58th minute, Edmund added a goal and completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute, before late strikes by Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim sealed the triumphant win. Kano Pillars now has 21 points from 12 matches played in the Nigerian Premier Football League.

This shameful loss is a clear sign of the appaling conditions affecting Shooting Stars also called Oluyole Warriors, whose players have not been paid for the past five months.
