The Technical Adviser of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Fatai Amoo has described his team as “a work in progress.” Amoo made this statement after the Oluyole Warlords got an easy 2-0 win over highly rated Lobi Stars of Markudi, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Saturday the 14th of January 2017. The victory ensures that the club remains in third place on the Nigerian Professional Football League table after the first week of games.
Amoo said although the victory is very important to the team, there is still more work to be done in order to ensure that the team sustains the high tempo that it has started the NPFL season with. In the words of Amoo himself “The team is not yet a finished product, that is why we must keep working hard in order to bring our plans to perfection”
The former U-23 national team assistant coach, known as “Arsenal” in his active years, said he is not too surprised the way his boys gave their best against Lobi Stars of Markudi against all odds. He pointed out that that the loss in the opening day game of the ( 2015/2016 Nigerian Professional Football League) season was still fresh and enough to motivate them.
“I know my boys wouldn’t disappoint (me and the fans) because they realized that the same team beat them around this time last year, that’s enough to motivate them.
Meanwhile, 3sc are away to Akure to face Sunshine Stars Football Club in a 2016/2017 NPFL Week 2 fixture and the team will be looking to inflict further misery on the Akure Gunners who lost their Week 1 game game 0-1 to Enyimba FC of Aba.
