As part of its continuous drive to promote a healthy lifestyle among Nigerians, Dufil Prima Foods makers of Power Oil has organized free health screening for Nigerians in nine states of the country. The health camp which offered basic medical screening including blood pressure, weight, BMI, cholesterol level and free consultation took place in Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Osun, Imo, Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Kano and Kaduna recorded over 450,000 beneficiaries.
Speaking at the palace of the Leader of the Moniya community in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Public Relations Manager, Power Oil, Omotayo Azeez said the initiative was to promote healthy living by encouraging Nigerians to pay more attention to their body and be cautious about the quality and type of food they consume in order to maintain a healthy heart and body. “Power oil as a brand is on a mission to encourage and enlighten Nigerians on the need to embark on a periodic medical check-up and to bring into the consciousness of every Nigerian to live a healthy heart lifestyle.” she said. The leader of Moniya Community, who hosted the Dufil officials, Chief Karimu Adigun, said that He was elated at the initiative. Adigun also expressed appreciation to the organizers of the health mission, adding that a laudable health project of this nature had never been brought to the Moniya community before. Representative of Moniya Women leader, Mrs. Risikatu Muraina, expressed happiness with the initiative, adding that, they never knew the importance of a medical checkup and the implication of unhealthy eating pattern on their health and family members.
