Nigerian Professional Football League defending champions, Enyimba FC of Aba, will continue their quest to reclaim the  2016 Federation Cup on October 2, 2016 when they battle with Nasarawa United of Lafia at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba , Ibadan.

It is a semifinal clash that will see the winner face either FC Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi or Crown FC of Ogbomosho in the final.

The People’s Elephants will hope their luck in Ibadan continues, as their quarter final fixture in the competition which they won against Rivers United was also played at the same venue. Nasarawa United,  who eliminated Federation Cup defending champions  Akwa United  4-2 on penalties in their last eight game after the game ended 0-0 after extra time, on the other hand  will be hoping for better luck  on the Adamasingba pitch as their last visit in July ended in a 1-2 loss to home team 3SC.

In the other semifinal game FC Ifeanyi Ubah will battle with Crown FC of Ogbomoso  on September 25 in Kaduna for a chance to be part of the final to be played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, later in the year.

Nigerian league defending champions, Enyimba, last won the Federation Cup title two years ago and are going for their third cup win in five years.

The Federation Cup  women’s semifinals will also come up on September 21, 2016.  Rivers Angels will square up against Nasarawa Amazons at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, while the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, will host the second semi final clash between Delta Queens and Bayelsa Queens.
