The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed Saturday, August 20 to conduct the  by-election into Oorelope State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
This is contained in a statement issued by Ayodele Folami, INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Oyo state, on Tuesday the 2nd of August, in Ibadan the Oyo State capital.
Folami said the August 20 by-election  was necessitated by the need for a replacement for Tunji Aremu, who was  elected to represent the constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2015 but died earlier this year.
He assured the general public that all the  concerned political parties and all the  security agencies in the state had been informed of the forthcoming poll.
Folami called on voters in Oorelope Local Government Area to turn out en masse, without fear of violence or intimidation, to vote for the candidate who will best represent their interests in the Oyo State House of Assembly
